• Rochester Contemporary Art Center's (RoCo), international small art phenomenon returns for the 6th year! Thank you for your generous contributions which helped us build an incredible exhibition of thousands of artworks made and donated by celebrities, international & local artists, designers, college students, youths, and YOU. Each artwork is 6x6 square inches (15cm) or mounted to a 6x6 board, signed only on the back, and exhibited anonymously. All entries were accepted, exhibited and are now for sale to the public for $20 each (in the gallery and online for global purchasing) to benefit RoCo. Artist names will be revealed to the buyer upon purchase and all artworks remain on display through July 14, 2013. Sold Out artists' names will be revealed next to their work online on July 5. Artists could enter up to 6 artworks of any medium (2D or 3D) and there was no fee to enter. Our fundraising goal is to sell 2,000 Artworks. • El fenómeno internacional de arte "pequeño" del Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Rochester (RoCo) regresa con miles de obras de arte originales, hechas y donadas por celebridades, artistas locales e internacionales, diseñadores, estudiantes universitarios, niños y TU. Cada obra debe medir 6x6 pulgadas cuadradas (15cm) o estar montada en un soporte de 6x6 pulgadas, y debe estar firmada en el reverso para ser exhibida anónimamente. Todas las propuestas serán aceptadas, exhibidas y ofrecidas en venta al publico por $20 dólares cada una (en la galería y en línea) y los fondos recolectados beneficiaran al Centro de Arte Contemporáneo. Los nombres de los artistas únicamente serán revelados al comprador y todas las obras permanecerán en el espacio de exposición durante el periodo de la exhibición. • Rochester Contemporary Art Centers (RoCo) internationales kleines Kunstphänomen kehrt mit tausenden von originalen Kunstwerken zurück. All diese sind gespendet und eigene Kunstwerke von Prominenten, internationalen und heimischen Künstlern, Designern, Studenten, Jugendlichen und von dir. Jedes Werk muss 6x6 Quadrat-Zoll sein (15cm) oder auf einer Fläche von 6x6 Zoll montiert sein. Dazu kann das Kunstwerk nur auf der Rückseite signiert sein, so dass es anonym in der Ausstellung bleibt. Jede Einreichung wird akzeptiert, ausgestellt und wird im Wert von $20 zu verkaufen sein (dies ist möglich in der Galerie und online für globale Erwerbung). Alle Einnahmen kommen RoCo zu Gute. Die Namen der Künstler werden dem Erwerber beim Verkauf offenbart. Alle Werke bleiben bis zum 14ten Juli 2013 in der Galerie ausgestellt. • Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo); Ritorna la mostra di arte internazionali di "piccole opere d'arte", con migliaia di opere originali, realizzate e donate da celebrità, artisti internazionali e locali, designers, studenti universitari, giovani, e da TE. • Q. What are the goals of 6x6x2013?
  A. 6x6x2013 will be the sixth year of the 6x6 exhibitions. Last year 6x6x2012 grew to include thousands of artworks from 45 different countries and every US State! This year we hope to reach deeper into the global art community, especially yours. This includes obtaining artwork from more national and international artists and celebrities. We would also like to have significant participation from all 12 of Rochester's sister cities. Every year 6x6 has grown and the consistently high caliber of artworks each year has been astounding. Help us make 6x6x2013 an amazing international expression of support for artists, arts institutions, creativity, and participation!

• Q. What is the RPO Bravo Award?
  A. Six Artworks were selected for 6 covers of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Bravo Program Book. All entries were eligible.
  2012 RPO Bravo Award Winners: Artworks# 25, 27, 75, 5515 & 6496 These artworks will appear on 2013 Bravo covers!
• Q.  Do I need an art background to enter?
  A.  No. We want everyone of all ages and skill level to participate.
  
• Q.  Can I submit more than one piece?
  A.  Of course. The goal is to gather many pieces of original 6" x 6" works of art. Each person may submit up to 6 artworks.

• Q.  Can my piece be 3D (three dimensional)? A.  Yes. 6" x 6" x 6". Please keep in mind that in order to install this exhibition our highly skilled staff will only be using push pins and the occasional small nail. If your piece is smaller than 6" please mount it to a 6" x 6" board or support. Q.  Can I submit a metal piece? A.  Please keep in mind that it will be hanging by thumb tacks/push pins. If your artwork (or support board) is thicker than 1/4" please drill holes into it to accommodate pins/nails.

• Q.  I want to frame my 6x6 pieces, if I supply the hanging materials can I submit these works?
  A.  Please don't. Because we have thousands of artworks to install, works will be tacked to the wall (some may be pierced, most will not be).
• Q. I am a school teacher and I would like to have my elementary or high school class enter artworks.
  We love having your student participation in 6x6! Please have all your students make 6x6 artworks then jury 6 winning artworks (based on your chosen criteria) from each class to be entered in 6x6x2013.
• Q.  Does 6" x 6" include a border or mat? Can my piece be smaller than 6 inches square?
  A.  The external dimensions of the piece should be exactly 6 inches square including border and mat. Smaller pieces may be mounted to 6" x 6" paper or board. Installation is based on a grid, artworks larger than 6" x 6" affect the efficiency of this method.
• Q.  Can I submit a series?
  A.  Of course. We cannot guarantee that the complete series will be installed together or in order, but we will try to install them in a horizontal row. We can NOT accomodate vertical sequencing. Each person may submit up to 6 artworks. If you want them in a certain order, please number the works left to right.
• Q.  How will the work be installed?
  A.  The work will be installed in the order in which it is received.
• Q.  Can I build a 6x6 video installation?
  A.  Yes, as long as the video is 6" x 6".
• Q.  May I cut a 6"x6" hole out of the gallery wall as my artwork?
  A.  No. You may, however cut a 6" x 6" square out of another gallery's wall and submit that as your piece. Gallery suggestions upon request.
• Q.  If my piece does not sell during the exhibition will I get it back?
  A.  No. Any works not sold by July 14, 2013 will remain for sale online. We reserve the right to sell works for less than $20.
• Q.  I submitted artworks in past year(s) that did not sell. Will you exhibit those again this year?
  A.  No. This year's installation will consist of all new artworks. Unsold artworks from 2009 - 2012 are available for viewing and purchase online, but will not be exhibited in 2013. Artworks from 2008 are also availabe upon request.
• Q.  Will all artworks be displayed?
  A.  Last year's exhibition consisted of over 7,500 artworks from 50 US states and 45 countries. SEND YOUR ARTWORKS EARLY!
• Q.  Are any artworks rejected?
  A.  Rochester Contemporary Art Center reserves the right to reject any artwork. However, after four years of 6x6 exhibitions we haven't once rejected a work.
• Q. What other restrictions are there for the artworks?
  A. Please do not submit any works containing glitter. We have found each year that it impacts other works. Any art being submitted with unfixed charcoal or pastel must have a temporary cover sheet, for protection of both it, and the surrounding works. Please label sheet as such, it will be removed upon installation.
  
• Q. What happened to 6x6x2009 being the "second and final year" for this fun exhibition?
  A. We asked every visitor to 2009 - 2012 if we should have another 6x6 exhibition. Resoundingly, you answered YES!
• Q.  Where does the money from the "sale" of an artwork go?
  A.  All proceeds benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center. This is a fun initiative that brings together a diverse group of people. It is also an important fundraiser that enables thoughtful contemporary art programming.
• Q.  Will the artists find out who purchased their artwork?
  A.  Not from Rochester Contemporary Art Center. The buyer receives a Customer Receipt (right half of the entry form) with the artist's name and contact information. The buyer may then contact the artist if they would like to. When submitting artworks, be sure to put some form of contact information (ex. a business card) if you wish to be contacted by the buyer of your artwork. Due to the scale of this exhibition we are not able to provide the buyer's information to each artist.
• Q: If my artwork sells, do I still retain copyright?
  A: Yes, the copyright belongs to the artist upon creation and remains as such regardless of the buyer. It is important to include contact information with your piece so that the buyer can contact you.

• Q. How does the Opening Reception Artwork Raffle work?
  Buyers must register for a buyer number when they arrive at the Preview Hours (May 29 - 31, 1-10pm) or Opening Reception (June 1, 6-10pm). If you would like to achieve an early buyer position to improve your chances of selecting your favorite artworks, you may enter a raffle for buyer position #1 - 20. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on May 29 - 31, June 1 for $5 each. On June 1st at 7:30 buyer position #1 will be selected from the raffle bin and the winner will have 1 minute to mark their artwork purchases with unique stickers. After one minute has elapsed, buyer position #2 will be drawn, announced, and the winner will have one minute to mark their artwork purchases before buyer position #3 is announced, etc. Buyer position #1 may continue to select artworks after buyer position #2 is called, and so on. One minute after buyer position #20 is announced, all other buyers will be allowed to make their selections. Stickers (dots) for selecting your chosen artworks should be purchased ($20 each) prior to the start of the raffle.
  
• Q.  When can I begin purchasing works from 6x6x2013?
  A.  The gallery exhibition will open for previewing (no purchasing) on May 29 - 31 and sales will begin June 1 at 7:30 pm starting with the Buyer's Choice Raffle. Buying will then be open to all once the raffle ends. The 6x6x2013 Online Gallery will be available here for previewing starting May 24 and global online purchasing will begin June 4 at 10am.
• Q. How does the Online Gallery work?
  A. The 6x6x2013 Online Gallery will be available here for previewing starting May 24, 2013 and global online purchasing will begin June 4 at 10am. You may currently purchase from previous 6x6 exhibitions (orange & pink & blue). Donate $20 to help support Rochester Contemporary Art Center's ongoing programming. In appreciation of your support we will give you an artwork of your choice.
  
• Q.  I don't have a PayPal account. Can I still purchase online?
  A.  YES. When purchasing online, select "Donate via Paypal" You may then enter your credit card # (*You do NOT need a PayPal account).
• Q.  What is the process for purchasing online?
  A.  Use the colored navigation arrows on the left to view the artworks.
  
  Select your favorite artworks and click "Add to Cart."
  
  After checking out, you may choose to become a member (add membership)
  
  Choose shipping method: "I'll Pick Up" or "Please Ship to Me." ($5 for inside the US and $10 for International)

• Q.  How do I retrieve artwork I purchase from 6x6x2013?
  A.  Artworks from 6x6x2013 will remain on display until July 14, 2013. Artwork Pick-Up days are: July 14, 15 & 16. If you are unable to pick up your purchased works on these days, you have the option of paying an extra $5 to have the work mailed to you AFTER the close of the exhibition. Artworks will be shipped via USPS within 3-4 days of the close of the exhibition. Please allow 5-7 days for your artwork to arrive.
• Q.  I can't make it to the Pick-Up days. How will I obtain the pieces that I purchased?
  A.  When you buy any piece for $20 you have the option of paying an extra $5 to have the work(s) mailed to you AFTER the close of the exhibition on July 14, 2013. If you can't make it to the pick-up days, you must have the work shipped to you.
• Q.  I purchased artworks from the 2009 - 2012 Online Galleries. When will they arrive?
  A.  When you buy any piece for $20 you have the option of paying an extra $5 to have the work mailed to you. This is the recommended pick-up/delivery method. Artworks will be shipped via USPS within 2-3 days. Please allow 5-7 days for your artwork to arrive. For pick-up orders, please retrieve your pieces during normal gallery hours (Wed - Sun, 1-5pm, Fri 1-10pm).
• Q. When can I browse and purchase artworks from 2009 - 2012?
  A. NOW. You can browse and purchase works from both 2009 - 2012 in the 6x6 Online Galleries. View "How does the Online Gallery work?" for more instructions.
• Q. Admission to the exhibition?
  A. Admission for the exhibition is $1 for non-members and free for members. General admission to the Opening Reception on June 1, 2013 from 6-10pm is $5 for members and non-members.
  
• Q.  Problems with the website?
  A.  The 6x6 Online Galleries work best with Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 2+ and Safari 3+.
  
• Don't Hestitate!
  Throughout the exhibition (June 1 - July 14, 2013), purchases completed at RoCo will be immediately synchronized with those completed through this website. Please keep in mind that someone may be shopping in the gallery for the artworks that you would like to select online. If someone at RoCo buys an artwork that is in your cart before you completely checkout, you will be unable to finish the online transaction and unable to claim the artwork. If you find artworks that you like, don't delay! Each artwork is an original! Supporting RoCo is a good cause!
